Beta Community Levels (videos)

Lovelly little animation. LBP's glow really helps the mood. The actual level must look a mess wil loads of pieces and connections! I admire those who push limits to make something because they can, but one does wonder why they don't create such animations in tools better suited to the job! | 2010-10-04 13:45:00 Author: Shifty Geezer Posts: 131 |
Merging this with the current Beta Videos thread... Folks, I'd like to keep everything nice and tidy in News and Media, just for my own personal sanity and the fact that it would be virtually unmanagable if every single beta video on YouTube had it's own thread. So, if you have a new beta vid you'd like to share, please place it here. Thanks! | 2010-10-04 15:31:00 Author: schm0 Posts: 1239 |
LMAO that dance club. Love it. Saddly didn't had much plays i plan to make tutorial today how to make sychro dancers that stay in place since normal synchronization of all movements is possible by simply placing so called wireless controlinator with override turned on sackbot, but thats unpractical | 2010-10-04 15:42:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
My attempt at a Flight Control like game. Excuse the poor image quality and my playing skills. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0SaEcE4uBg This is obviously more a proof of concept than a proper mini-game and it still needs some quite a bit of tweaking. That said I probably won't fix much since I have moved on to other concepts already and each of the levels I publish in the beta are just my attempts to understand what is possible and what is not, so all levels are build around one idea. In this case that is creating paths on the go and getting objects to follow these paths. I will probably take a video of some other levels later tonight once the sun has gone down and there are less reflections on my TV. | 2010-10-04 16:08:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |
OK, the easier method turned out to be not so easy (surprise surprise) and works out way more thermo inefficient. The primary method suffers from the awkwardness of the latency bug which is now apparently fixed, but we may well not be seeing said fix in the beta. Well my simpler method turned out to be trash, and my original method is really, really unstable (due to a particular bug in beta that we are unlikely to see a fix for until release). However, I thought up and even simpler method, that requires use of a single select switch and that's all! All you have to do is to wire each output (n) of the select into input (n+1). The system neatly adds in the 1/30 seconds delay and creates a progression @ 30Hz. The only downside is that it's not possible to stop on a particular frame and then continue (although it's possible to set specific breakpoints I think), but you can get it to play once, loop until a stop signal is sent and then restart from frame 1, etc. I'm quite chuffed tbh. So, who wants to make the slickest animations LBP has ever seen? Stop raiding my mind before I post. I was thinking your original better solution was going to be the selector switch thing. Pah. Next time I should just post lol. /competition | 2010-10-04 16:13:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |
Luos has been a very busy guy. Check this intense shooter out. That's mighty good stuff wouldn't you say? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdBWI_F62lk&feature=sub Edit: Like I said, a busy guy he is. This is simplicity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W51IXnTd6yc&feature=sub | 2010-10-04 16:57:00 Author: siberian_ninja15 Posts: 444 |
I didn't seen that :o Hmm interesing, i just checked out this level on LBP.me and it has not much plays, but it looks well and has nice sequencer music. Queued and i gonna check it out | 2010-10-04 17:56:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
Is there many other kind of more story based levels "The Cave of New Beh'ta" and "Ice Age Extinction" are awesome. If anybody could upload more videos or link me any I haven't found I'd appreciate it very much! | 2010-10-04 18:58:00 Author: Jordanmcc Posts: 94 |
Just uploaded two more videos of my levels. Again the quality is terrible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBLspNbjOCw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBLspNbjOCw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRlgTVGzekw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRlgTVGzekw And from my previous post http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0SaEcE4uBg | 2010-10-04 19:03:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |
Would you guys mind to provide links to the videos and not just embed them? | 2010-10-04 19:08:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |

Yes, festerd_Jester created that one. It's very good. Just made a simple volcano using the new splat effect. It's not particularly interesting so I won't embed the video but just post the link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdwssK_XCFI) | 2010-10-04 20:17:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |

Hello siberian_ninja15 (http://www.lbpcentral.com/member.php?11511-siberian_ninja15) Even though I appreciate the efford that you took to record the spaceshooter "Frantic"... you recorded the beta version. there is no full release of the level yet. on that note, I released the level as a closed beta to have some friends etc. test the level. how did you obtain the password and why did you not ask me before recording the level? On that note, what has been done.. has been done I guess. | 2010-10-05 09:42:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |

On that note, what has been done.. has been done I guess. Oh, I'm sorry for posting the videos. I can take them down if you want me to. The thing is, I'm not in the beta and did not record these. I found these recorded by this person: http://www.youtube.com/user/LBP2CHANNEL I was subscribed to him/her and they just happen to put new vids up with your levels. Either that is one of your friends or someone is sharing your closed beta when they are not supposed to. Once again, if you want the vids down, I have no problem removing them. | 2010-10-05 12:55:00 Author: siberian_ninja15 Posts: 444 |

Yes, it may take a while though since I'm not playing LBP everyday. Right. Anyone can test around with this, but if it works, I claim the original idea - like, please don't claim you came up with it. (unless someone else has already made this.) So, if someone could please test this for me; here is my general idea, and steps as to how I would think it could be done: */ Make some rock in the front (only front) thick layer. Make it so it is like a hillside with a little depression it in. (where, irl, there would be a pool of water.) Now, make a water bullet and on it, wire an impact sensor to a destroy switch set to liquify. (switches invisible) then copy about 10 or so so that they fill the pool with "water". Capture the "water" and make a 0.0 emitter with inf life and 5-10 max emitted at a time. Emit the water directly above the surface of the depression in the rock. /* If you test it, and you can video it, then please do so, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks. and.. If all goes well, you should come up with something very close to REEL watarz. | 2010-10-05 18:20:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |
Not a single "please" in that demand. You are not really making me want to test that right now. | 2010-10-05 18:57:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |
Not a single "please" in that demand. You are not really making me want to test that right now. Oh, sorry, I wasn't really demanding it, unfortunately it may have seemed that way though. I think I have edited it to be a bit more friendly. | 2010-10-05 19:04:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |

I just got a look at our "Logic IslAND" lvl you imported into LBP2 Luos. So awesome, the new engine really looks great and I was pleased that all the visible logic items that were decorations stayed the same. All the stone switches and logic monuments look so good, hands down some of the best looking objects I have ever made for any lvl. Now I needs to see some video of the UFO lvl... -Clay | 2010-10-05 19:30:00 Author: c_mckamey Posts: 62 |

Dang, that just gave me more ideas. I didn't know you could just directly stimulate the sackbots with controllinator inputs... even down to the emotions... hmmmm. Cool! Since I don't have access to the beta client yet I haven't really been paying much attention to the logic specifics until recently. | 2010-10-09 19:01:00 Author: Foofles Posts: 2278 |
Dang, that just gave me more ideas. I didn't know you could just directly stimulate the sackbots with controllinator inputs... even down to the emotions... hmmmm. Cool! Yea but you need that emulation circuit to sychro emotion that you seen in video, i not hard to make your own if you got some logic design skills. But it's only need if you want to synchronize (this includes situation if you use mounted sackboy to control sackbot), to control emotion you just need behavior chips and you don't need other controlinator for that And yea rtm was first who mention about control override on forums and mistakenly rediscover it while playing with sackbot my self and decide demo it, since it's cool tech | 2010-10-09 19:41:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
You shoulda been keepin up with rtm! You woulda known this a while ago. Lol. haha, as if it is easy to keep up with rtm. I consider myself fairly intelligent but that guy makes me feel like my brain is made up of stale molasses and bits of kibble. I will be spending much time absorbing the intricacies of his explanations of the new logic. | 2010-10-09 19:42:00 Author: EinRobot Posts: 739 |
The beauty of all the logic discovered in LBP2 so far is in its simplicity, even the most complex things are neatly broken down into modular systems, it's not the monstrosity that was LBP1 logic. Which I am adept at enough but still find it disgusting Mr. Kittyriver, can you show off some sackbot animation recording and playback? | 2010-10-09 21:34:00 Author: Foofles Posts: 2278 |

Hm, is there a way I can make a sackbot jump from another button than X without 0MG H4X1NG my Dualshock? | 2010-10-10 14:31:00 Author: Unknown User |

Hm, is there a way I can make a sackbot jump from another button than X without 0MG H4X1NG my Dualshock? Sure, one DCS on the Sackbot another one to control it. Sure, one DCS on the Sackbot another one to control it. Connect the button you want to use to make the Sackbot jump to the X button on the Sackbots DCS. Yay. Are you guys kidding me with those levels? What can't you do with this thing? Lot of things, this 3D forward effect it's quite limited, you can go only forward and sterf there is other limits, but there still a lot to discover that may allow to over come them | 2010-10-11 15:38:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |

And I bought a lot of PSN games. This level is amazing, I just couldn't believe it the first time I saw it, and it is still the case. And for that matter, I want an Everyday Shooter remake. That game deserves a comeback. | 2010-10-11 23:36:00 Author: VincentVendetta Posts: 111 |

Ha, I found out how that guy did the Flower thing. Well at least I think I know. The Level is done on a sequencer with an "illusionist twist". The Ground is simply a multilayer object that is emitted multiple times added with a layer mover. (The Logic that can move things between layers) And the flower & the wind youre controlling is actually just moving across a birdseye view screen to give it the Flower effect. Uhhh Did I get it? Did I do Good? Can I have a cookie? :3 | 2010-10-12 08:26:00 Author: ishotthesherrif Posts: 101 |
i do hope we don't just get levels that impress because they are doing stuff that wasn't supposed to be done, but in truth, they play really badly | 2010-10-12 17:43:00 Author: GribbleGrunger Posts: 3910 |

This is no Flower (lol) but I just started messing with a simple animation test with holograms and stickers like that Zelda level before. Adding frames in between should be easy enough though to make the motions look smoother. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfUut0KDW3k Granted holograms can get funky due to that silly pulsing animation, it's better than nothing! I'm sure Shadowcrazy will appreciate the source material. =P | 2010-10-12 19:47:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |

Interesting... What's with those lag spikes though? is that just in the video or is that in the game too? Eh... you might be talking about the animation, right? If that's the case, I only used a few frames just to see if I can pull off what I wanted to do. I'll be adding in more frames later on. | 2010-10-12 19:56:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |

Did you animate via the method rtm was talking about? (self-imputing +1 on a selector with each output hocked up to the next animation)? Also, I asked on twittah how long it took to make. | 2010-10-12 20:19:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |
Did you animate via the method rtm was talking about? (self-imputing +1 on a selector with each output hocked up to the next animation)? Also, I asked on twittah how long it took to make. No. I use sequencers with battery outputs connected to the frames. For the Gundam to Bird mode and back transition, I just have the sequencer set to forwards/backwards using a toggle. I can see the selector being more accurate in regards to setting frames to have specific lengths moreso than the sequencer, but I can live with the sequencer for now. Maybe when I get more involved, then I might use rtm's technique. This is definitely one time I wish the cow glitch was still available since any other material would look better than holograms. As for how long it took for the animations, less than half a day minus everything else in regards to the movement and functions. The longest part was properly making the frames with the stickering. | 2010-10-12 20:52:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
You should make real side scrolling shoot-em up gevurah22 out of that, i know there was top-down view mecha arcade shootem up involving shooting and sword slashes but i don't remember name | 2010-10-12 22:19:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |

You should make real side scrolling shoot-em up gevurah22 out of that, i know there was top-down view mecha arcade shootem up involving shooting and sword slashes but i don't remember name Well, that's the plan but I never have enough time recently to really devote to going full steam with these ideas. I did have lots of fun working on it though, so hopefully I can go full steam with it sometime soon. I wonder if the top-down mecha shooter you're talking about was my Armorboy Beta one. IIRC there's a tweak setting to disable that. Please do tell. It'd be extremely useful. I've already set the animation to 0%, so it confuses me as to why the animations of my frames are affected by pulsing. | 2010-10-12 23:12:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |

Sadly, that's the setting I was referring to. :/ Report it as a bug. Will do. Now that I think about it, I wonder if the secondary animation speed still applies when its set to "off." I'll have to check when I get back home, but if that's the case, then maybe I won't have to. | 2010-10-12 23:20:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |

Does it auto-pulse upon emiittation? (the way plasma balls make that annoying sound..) If you take a look at the animations, they do happen to be brighter than normal at times when set to on, which is why I think the animation speed is still occurring somewhere (and I'm thinking it's happening when it's "off"). | 2010-10-12 23:29:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
How wondrous LBP2 sounds and looks! Am I dreaming? I half expect this is some kind of massive conspiracy against me. You know, where all you guys here, those fanboys at NG4, Sony, the UK and everyone else involved in this supposed "LBP2" all conspire to make me believe a thing like LBP2 not only could exist, but that it does and it is almost here. Something that truly is as open as the artistic creativity and weird tinkering engineering put into to it. Not limitless, but surprisingly near. Really, for 60 bucks? I am not really religious but its seems to me that playing LBP2 will/would be like chewing bubble gum made by a deity... with your brain. Can it be? Are you having a laugh? | 2010-10-12 23:38:00 Author: EinRobot Posts: 739 |
If you take a look at the animations, they do happen to be brighter than normal at times when set to on, which is why I think the animation speed is still occurring somewhere (and I'm thinking it's happening when it's "off"). I was wondering if it auto-pulses when emitted regardless of being on or off? Or does it pulse when one (just, or both) animations are set on? | 2010-10-12 23:56:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |
Special delivery for Mr. Foofles, sackbot animation recording in action http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKicqjroEX8 I mess up a little bit playback modes, so here correction: Absolute - Sackbot go to start point after end of playback Relative - Sackbot loops playback at point when playback ended | 2010-10-13 03:06:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |

I was wondering if it auto-pulses when emitted regardless of being on or off? Or does it pulse when one (just, or both) animations are set on? I was right. I needed to set the animation to 0% for the hologram's off state. Thanks for helping me figure it out eventually guys! Mission accomplished, lol. | 2010-10-13 07:02:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |

Hello, I haven't played the BETA for a while (due to my work) so I've probably missed a lot of things. I've seen lots of videos about animations made with the holographic material, such as Gevurah's animation test, but also this one. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xY8dSE26AXg&feature=player_embedded) I know it must've been discussed a lot of time, but I wonder... how is it possible ? I've heard about Rtm's method. How does it work ? Maybe I should post this on the How do you... thread in the BETA forum. Thanks! | 2010-10-17 10:37:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |

The simplest way to do it is by using a sequencers with batteries in them connected to the frames of animation. rtm's method is based specifically on attempting to get a solid 30fps, which these animations, including my own, don't really need. All in all, the hardest and most time consuming part would be creating the frames themselves. And that vid is very impressive. I can only imagine how long it took them to do all of that. Oh, thanks guys, I think I got it. So, basically you superimpose several holographic shapes, but only one at a time appears? (I didn't even know we could tweak a holographic shape and connect it to a switch. What are you talking about? with looped timer you can get controllable 10 fps animation out of selector and also you can select single frames in faster speed. Selector based animation was first method used as i know. Keep in mind that sprites in 8bit era hardly had 10fps sometimes I said rtm's method. His method does not use timers; It uses the current input directly into the next input, and so on; this means it goes as fast as the game can handle; aka roughly 30fps. Either that, or I'm stupid and should just shutup already. :| | 2010-10-17 18:48:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |

This is easier in case you accidently activate it during create mode as it is easier to reset. I'm sure rtm said it was 30 Actually, that might be right. The fastest pulse rate you can do on a single wire (in either LBP) is 15Hz, but by exploiting multiple outputs, you might be able to get the full 30fps framerate, which, as far as we can tell, is the speed of the simulation engine. | 2010-10-17 20:48:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |

Holy smokes donkey show, that's an impressive engine. Also I always love your boss fight skills, I'm not nearly as good as you when it comes to big hulking creatures like that. Here's the latest clip of my Mega Manesque engine, sorry for the bad video quality, and sorry for the boss that bugs out at the end. EDIT: Oh and massive credits to aer0blue for the awesome stage music! I'm definitely going to work more with him if he's interested in composing more tunes for me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwQGfbUTYTM | 2010-10-19 18:56:00 Author: Linque Posts: 607 |

So if you're looking for a top down action RPG experience, please check it out if you can! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uh-JFB0YqB0 Hot diggity dog that impressive donkey show!!! To tell you the truth, I dont have the betaz :n( but i do see two things that you might want to add/change just from the video. 1. Impact sound. Make it so that when you hit someone with the sword, theres an impact sound. If there was one already, make it louder and add a little "umph" to it if you know what i mean. 2. Allow people to pick up coins with the sword. As you probably experienced when playing it (I know i saw it) picking them up while just running over them was inconsistent at best. So just allow players to pick them up if you swing your sword over it. Anyways, great work!! Love your LBP levels, and I am excited for what you have up your sleeve for LBP2! | 2010-10-19 19:16:00 Author: dr_murk Posts: 239 |

Here's the latest clip of my Mega Manesque engine, sorry for the bad video quality, and sorry for the boss that bugs out at the end. Thanks man! I love making mega beasts like that. It's been awhile since I've done so as well. Although, I do need to tweak the level a little so that players can actually reach that point, lol. And I'll definitely queue up your level. Looks like a good solid time. ^^ BTW, did you accept my friend request way back when? I'd love to play Craft Earth Crusaders but, I always get the "Fail to Load" message. I'm quering it to play when ever that patch is released. Thanks a lot! I'm planning on adding more classes and enemy types as well on top of fixing a few things so hopefully you'll get a more complete experience. ^^ | 2010-10-19 19:20:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
Yes I accepted the request a couple of days ago - I kind of forgot about it when I started losing myself in tweaking the Sackbot controls. Before you wander in to my level keep in mind that it's still kind of concept only. In other words, low on instructions, high on bugs. But it's playable. After all, once the bugs have been ironed out and the controls tweaked, cranking out content is pretty easy. Now in addition to getting rid of said bugs I should work on creating more enemy types and working in proper scoring, pickups & a checkpoint system. EDIT: Oh and most important, level entry animation so that the sackbot "beams" into the level, much like his mentor. | 2010-10-19 19:32:00 Author: Linque Posts: 607 |
Lous that looks freakin awesome!!! If only I could play it I'm making a lvl right now called rUins. It's coming along great, and I have some unique gameplay ideas (I haven't seen them anywhere yet ) I know it's so over used, but jungles/forests, and caves are my forte. I'm going to pull through with this lvl and finish it!!!! Donkey, as always your lvl was great except to me it felt like the boss dragged on a little too long. It was awesome. Not that I've actually played it. I just watched your video. | 2010-10-19 19:34:00 Author: Amigps Posts: 564 |

Linque, Donkeyshow.. dudes.. thats awesome. Makes me wanna work with you guys Sounds like a plan! Donkey, as always your lvl was great except to me it felt like the boss dragged on a little too long. It was awesome. Not that I've actually played it. I just watched your video. It's all good. I initially like making my bosses battles of attrition in the sense of "how long can you last?" But that's just for me really, lol. I eventually tone it down after getting feedback and am planning on doing so as with the rest of the level since I think only one person that's played it has got to the boss so far according to the scores on lbp.me. | 2010-10-19 19:55:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
Luos, I checked out your vid and was really impressed, too. In addition to Megaman, I'm a sucker for scrolling shooters. I'd definitely be interested in collaborating in projects. I'm especially loving your weapon design. | 2010-10-19 20:03:00 Author: Linque Posts: 607 |
Hey donkey, how many layers do you use on that final boss? It looked me like more than are usually usable, but that impossible.... right? Anyways, I'd just like to know how you made it look that way it does. | 2010-10-19 20:50:00 Author: dr_murk Posts: 239 |
donkey's level uses the layer glitch so yeah, there are more layers than the normally allowed three. A lot of levels seem to be using that glitch. MM could just as well make it an official feature. | 2010-10-19 21:27:00 Author: Linque Posts: 607 |

Hey! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYoQwSV-Ezo I've recorded a level I made again - It's slightly better quality. Why not take a look? | 2010-10-19 23:28:00 Author: standby250 Posts: 1113 |
Donkey. I assume the entire floor is glitched on level down (away, in back), right? Does the final boss itself use more than three levels? It's hard to tell. And from the video, it looks like you may have some "naked" lava patches in the bottom left part of the boss fight. | 2010-10-19 23:59:00 Author: Biv Posts: 734 |

And from the video, it looks like you may have some "naked" lava patches in the bottom left part of the boss fight. Yeah, I've had no luck taking care of those patches, even with smaller "lava" segments. It seems the engine still has problems with either tremendously large or several multiple stickers of the same type near each other. As for the boss, it uses layers into the 4th front thick glitch layer. And yes, everything from the floor down is glitched as well. | 2010-10-20 00:11:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
That's a really cool concept... how would resume game work though? Are you going to be using codes? Or is there actually a way to save progress? Nah - resume game would work solely on a code which you'd enter. I'll post a vid up later of the menu if you like! Edit: This is the Resume Menu. Notice that the X, O, Triangle and Square buttons are used to enter the password. Oh, and if you have the Beta, feel free to use that code - it leads to an unfinished section of the game. The 10 points that are given when the code is entered allows me to put two chapters in one level - and depending on which code you enter, you will go to a different chapter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjEDJzDm5ts | 2010-10-20 00:52:00 Author: standby250 Posts: 1113 |

Is it a benefit of the advanced glue? Trying to wrap my head around how it can be part of the game space in glitch space at the same time. | 2010-10-20 00:55:00 Author: Biv Posts: 734 |

I have made a lock-on system in LBP1... it's not that hard... Given the multiple characters on screen, the inter-planar motion, and the complexity of it all, it may be fairly difficult. Now, i have no doubt in my mind that it is doable, but it is something that would take some time and thought process. | 2010-10-21 19:07:00 Author: dr_murk Posts: 239 |

The Mage needs a crosshairs, same with any other distance-attack-class. Else is good! I played it 4player with shadowriverUB, foofles, and Prattz and we managed as 3 warriors, with me as Mage. We PWNED! Was a bit laggy, but very fun! | 2010-10-21 22:40:00 Author: Fishrock123 Posts: 1578 |

We PWNED! Was a bit laggy, but very fun! Awesome! Glad to know it worked well enough in 4 Player mode considering there were only 2 initial checkpoints. Did you all spawn in different locations of the level or did you all start from the beginning? And I'll make sure to add a crosshair to the mage. I'll be adding s'more stuff tonight and hopefully one more class to the mix. Dunno what it'll be next, but the two classes now will get secondary attacks to complement their arsenal. | 2010-10-21 23:01:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |

I still haven't played that level, since when I was gonna play it with you and Fishrock, my PS3 did a major crash. (That's what I call it when it crashes, then I have to turn it off for 10 minutes to rest, because it is unable to connect to my router for a while.) Anyway yeah. I'm thinking of getting my DVDR up and running to record videos of the beta on request. (Request by people who don't have the beta. Maybe ask me to make a video showing what the full pop-it looks like, or how the rotators work...) | 2010-10-24 02:50:00 Author: KlawwTheClown Posts: 1106 |

Can other people see them that aren't in the beta? No, but you get auto-logged-out of beta.lbp.me after either closing your browser, or after 8 hours of inactivity (according to Tom), so they'll show up as broken in many cases. This won't be an issue after lbp.me goes live tho'. | 2010-10-24 22:25:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |

My 2nd real deal LBP2 level, Codec Snake: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJN6GJdp6Ks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJN6GJdp6Ks (if you dont see video thein it's still processing) So after tetris i decided to try other "made in china" toy games hit ^^ Contains 2 controls shames: Directional - standard d-pad control Rotational - turn left turn right kind of contol, like in Nokia 3310 version of snake Whole level shows power of wireless and numeral logic combined ;] what it's interesting in logic of this level is fact that it uses clock ticks like real digital circuitry microcontrollers and such. Work less buggier then my tetris, only issue is control delay in slower modes, but i solve this with responsive mode that extra extra tick when direction change, but then it makes counters works little improbably and tail animation becomes strange Oh and special thanks for NinjaMicWZ for shaping game over sigh, without him that awesomeness on the end would not exist Also got 2 other videos on tape including some music ^^ i got time for this one today but tommorow... The new responsive mode is great! I got the highscore yesterday :kz: Hopefully it still stands, I was most distressed because my death was caused by a join request! | 2010-10-25 04:04:00 Author: OneEyedBanshee Posts: 1370 |

If you're a fan of Gundam Wing, please check it out! I redid the battle theme music in the sequencer and added in some really quick battle animations to pass the time as the song goes on, basically making it a quick high score mini-game. xD Gundam Wing - Battle Theme [MID] and Animation Test: http://beta.lbp.me/v/4wpq http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aj_J5k5sQw | 2010-10-25 10:11:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |

MMmmm robots and explosions, added to queue How did you name the instructions at the bottom of the screen? You can tweak the output buttons of the controllinator to have a name and it'll show up on the bottom when you sit in it. | 2010-10-25 13:30:00 Author: Foofles Posts: 2278 |

Just to give you the heads up, theres an (un)official thread for beta level videos. I think it just one thread or so above this (soon to be below because of this post.) And I agree!! It's a phenomenal level, but a link to the video for it has already beed posted in said thread. | 2010-10-25 17:46:00 Author: dr_murk Posts: 239 |

That way it's always right up but the world would turn? I don't know if it would work better in reality but in my head it seems like a good idea | 2010-10-25 20:02:00 Author: Jordanmcc Posts: 94 |

I don't know if it would work better in reality but in my head it seems like a good idea I've done it and it comes with mixed results. It's either love it or hate it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNto7GrFhj4 It works better with top down versus sidescrolling. | 2010-10-25 21:09:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
So when inverted, the controls still seem correct? I would think that the controls would feel disoriented if you were flipped over... :/ | 2010-10-25 21:11:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
So when inverted, the controls still seem correct? I would think that the controls would feel disoriented if you were flipped over... :/ Nope they're exactly the same. It really isn't that nuts as you're only shooting in a different direction. Personally, the less you have to think about direction in a level like that, the better. | 2010-10-25 21:31:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
Here's some of my latest and greatest Music Sequencer songs This one was for a friend's level. It only took like 2 hours to make (no seriously). Level is called Virtual Combat by Tactical_Gunner I didn't know what to name the song, so he named it "Techno Panic" for me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRnKZ8j0__Y http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRnKZ8j0__Y This one I made purely from inspiration. I saw this amazing looking garden near my campus grounds, and boop...this song popped in my head. I called it "Gardens" for obvious reasons http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unr2M8RJZg8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unr2M8RJZg8 I made an MP3 version of this song that you can download here: http://soundcloud.com/resonantparadoxtec/tracks I'd really appreciate feedback. | 2010-10-25 22:51:00 Author: comishguy67 Posts: 849 |
Very nice on both! I had played that level earlier and saw you mentioned good work | 2010-10-25 22:56:00 Author: Foofles Posts: 2278 |
Simply inspirational! I really can't believe that only took 2 hours... | 2010-10-25 23:01:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |

Simply inspirational! I really can't believe that only took 2 hours... Haha, yes indeed it did. It's a very repetitive song actually. But I add a lot of extra sounds to make it sound diverse. | 2010-10-26 01:40:00 Author: comishguy67 Posts: 849 |

@mish80 Hahahahahahahaha that is so cool!!! X) @comishguy67 I didn't really like the first one. Not because it was bad, but because of my own personal tastes. I really did like the second one though <3 It was awesome | 2010-10-26 14:38:00 Author: Amigps Posts: 564 |
It is a awesome video indeed, but just like dr_murk said, there's a thread to post beta videos, so you don't have to make your own thread. But the video has already been posted on the beta video thread. Thanks for showing us but yeah, if you ever find another cool beta videothat you haven't seen on the beta video thread already, you can just post it there. | 2010-10-26 15:42:00 Author: Dragonvarsity Posts: 5208 |

I published v0.05 of my mega sackbot level, but I don't have proper video capturing tools and I would finally like to get a decent quality video of the level. Could someone with the beta & capturing equipment record a vid for me? I would appreciate it a lot! The level is http://beta.lbp.me/v/36gt I did record a vid myself again tho, just sucks in quality.
