I bought this yesterday, so happy i have played about 4 and a half hours so far and i'm enjoyining it.

I'm sorry to say that I thought Final Fantasy 13 was absolutely one of the, if not the, worst "role playing game" that I ever "played" ... All the game is, to me, is interactive eye candy on rails, and I don't like that. The enemies were boring, I hated every one of the characters (excluding Sahz), and wanted to shoot Vanille in the face. I kept playing it because I wanted to like it. It's weird, too, because I liked FF10, and that game was pretty much on rails, too, but somehow, I didn't mind nearly as much. I want to know what happened to the world map in games. If I need to use a Phoenix Down to revive it, I'd be happy to! And towns? Oh, towns, how I've missed you! When all was said and done, I got about 7 hours into the game, which is really impressive considering it never, in my opinion, even remotely got good. Everyone tells me that it really starts to pick up at around 20 hours, but I sorta think it's unacceptable for the player to have to wait that long for a game to possibly get good. Anyway, sorry if I offended anyone. This is just my opinion, guys, so please don't be angry with me. If you liked it, I'm happy for you, because you found something in that game that I simply could not. I didn't like it at all, so I started playing other things. I unfortunately don't really have the time to waste on a game that I don't even remotely like.

Things don't change that much 20 hours in. Ch. 11 just gives you some optional hunting quests you can do instead of continuing with the story. 7 hours is plenty to decide if you like the game. I doubt Ch. 11 would change how you feel.

This FF could have been better had they not greatly reduced the amount of content so the game could be PS and XBox. It wasn't bad around chapter 11 on, though still lacking, but to make players wait that long was just a bad move in my opinion. However, I'm happy to see that Final Fantasy XIV, which I signed up for beta (crosses fingers in hopes of being chosen) returns to the FF vibe I love and miss.

I've been following FF14 too ! I don't like beta cause it ruins the rush of buying the game and speeding to the ps3 and getting hit with all the magic of the fully completed game . Is there a thread for FF14? there should be :/ a significant amount of content has been revealed on the site. *drool*
