Okay, I put up a server with Bukkit and some SMP mods. Currently, it has Heroes, DistantFarm, BOSEconomy, and ChestShop for plugins.

The IP of my server is '71.235.8.78:25565' without the quotes.

To log-in you will need the following mods:

You only need the client files!

After you finish downloading these, you will most likely get an error when starting up minecraft. To resolve these, make sure your ids for these two config files match these. DO NOT COPY AND PASTE!

If you have other mods adding many blocks, change their item ids instead of these mods. If you do not have these posted here and the default for the other mods you will not be able to place some items.

Some mods, like Thaumcraft and EquivalentExchange do not even have a vanilla SMP version yet.

Heh, that flying squid is back... What was his name again? Didnt we come up with a whole lifes story and everything? Anyway, considering I dont download mods(something I love about the LBPC server, i dont have to), I think Ill be sticking with memos.

If you have other mods adding many blocks, change their item ids instead of these mods. If you do not have these posted here and the default for the other mods you will not be able to place some items.

Some mods, like Thaumcraft and EquivalentExchange do not even have a vanilla SMP version yet.

When you have the mods installed, start MC, you should get that error. Then when you get the .cfg files, open them with Notepad.

DO NOT copy and paste what Tan put. The spacing is wrong. You're going to have to go through and change all the data values for RedPower by hand. :/ I'm about half way through after 10 minutes. I'll finish that later tonight. I may upload it to a site or something so you can just download the completed .cfg.

I went back to my 'abandoned' home to check on all my hidden valuables and was surprised to see more than half of them were gone, my brewing stand gone, and a small portion of my tower was griefed. I was told by octavio to post screenshots of a few areas touched by who did this. So here they are:

You shouldn't need the other configs... I didn't have to mess with them.

For BuildCraft, did you download all 5 CLIENT mods? Do you have ModLoader (current) and ModLoaderMP (current)?

You can go into your .minecraft and read the modloade.txt to see what blocks are causing the errors.

Yeah its fine. I want optifine when I play online anyway, and they conflict, so meh. Its fine.
Anyway, speaking of optifine, whenever I use it, stuff just does not load. Like, the blocks are there, they just arent visible. Its actually REALLY irritating, because no matter what settings I change, the blocks just DO NOT load. Its making me angry, my butt is really sore... Any help you guys can give me?

The Aether works fine if you install the right version. If you are inexperienced at installing mods I highly suggest you use MCPatcher (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/232701-100-11w50aupdate-1216-mcpatcher-hd-fix-230-01/). It allows you to create mod profiles so you can switch your mods quickly if something causes incompatibilities. It is not compatible with OptiFine because they both involve patching textures.

EDIT: Try a clean install of OptiFine using the version best suited for your needs and delete all or try deleting the configuration files. You may have just changed a setting.

The first ones that come to mind are survival island and Skyblock, but those are just way too generic.

I always seem to find good unfinished survival maps and then forget to keep track of them. There was one at sea on a pirate ship that looked really cool, then there was one in an abandonned city, if you can find those then i'll give you +internets.

I got a lot done today :hero:

-I think I found a zombie spawner, not sure, but I heard lots of zombies in the walls o_o. I'll tell you guys where it is if you wanna help me kill it, and if it actually is a spawner we can split the chest xD.
-I am going to making a mining town called Magma Mining Town, and it will be located near I think its New Tiedherdurst (Or whatever its called) Its actually going to be directly on the side of a mountain, and I will start the town tomorrow. It will have an open mineshaft where you can gather as much minerals as you need. I have already made a tunnel connecting to where its going to be (I also found an AWESOME Mountain pool, which I will probably be turned into the pool of the town

- Made large staircase to mountain made entirely of glass.

Been playing for 2 hours straight, such a nerd...

EDIT: Since the new town is so close to New Testadiahurst (Or whatever its called) Maybe it could just be the mining town of New Test.? I will happily allow everyone who lives on New Test. to have their own residental plot in MMT. I am going to start building the tavern tomorrow

If you look up at the mountain next to New Test., you can see a tunnel with a fence blocking it, thats where MMT will start.

This can be done in the config folder of .minecraft. Only problem is, I cant open the file. It says it is "either unknown or damaged" with Winrar. Says generally the same thing with a few other things that Ive tried. Any of you guys ever successfully opened something in your config folder?

Yea, I have been replanting them, but they dont seem to be growing

I don't know why, because I DID plant them near water. And if Kernel approves my town I'm going to make a house there and stay there because I hate getting in the way of other people. I'm so sorry I built my house there but they were the only trees I saw and I needed a shelter.

Just replant them randomly around the terrain like they were when you got there. The trees will grow, assuming they have enough space and are under direct sunlight.

Kill some skeletons and put the Bones in a crafting table or your inventory crafting square. It turns them into bonemeal whitch instanty grows plants, mushrooms, and crops. I think it will work as long as it has enough space.

HELP, what can I do!! I only have a few rocks, loads and loads of wood, bricks, clay, sand, stone tools and food. I can't kill him, I'm scared, he stopped jumping so I can't hit im anymore! But all my stuff's here and it would be very unsafe to travel with it! Arg, what a bad start... I cut hundred trees to build a house and the minute I want to get out a creeper waits right in front of my cave door. Arg, why didn't I put it on peacefull... Oh, yeah, cause I wanted to feel like I were surviving, so I had to make sure I wouldn't fall in lava, have to be careful in mines, get some web to make a bow and I wanted it to feel useful to build traps. Arg... Can MCEdit delete monsters ? I would remove just this one. I guess he followed my dog... Idiot. The creeper didn't kill him, even if it was barking at him...

Yeah... Setting it to peaceful gets rid of all hostile mobs. The only thing that will attack you on peaceful is a dog you hit.

only one arena at the moment and its barebones to a fault but it works, nontheless.

I'm working on getting a pvp arena going too. lemme know if anything messes up.

also, i kinda want to elect a senior mod or something so that the fact i'm easily distrac......err busy a lot is less of an issue for the server.

Oh, thanks guys, I thought I had read that peaceful only stoped monsters spawning, but didn't kill them. Well my dog glitched, and he was stuck sitting. Oh, and he also tried killing me while running at me, but still sitting. I didn't know friendly dogs could kill you if you hurt them. It must have happened while I tried to kill the creeper... but he was glitch-stuck then.

EDIT : WHAAAAT ? I foudn a forest fuuuul of wolves ! I mean, like 20 of them ! They are everywhere !

Well, if you followed the mod instructions you made a backup of your minecraft.jar, amirite? cut the current one and put it somewhere you won't forget it, then cut the old one and put it where you just took the newer one from. TADAA old minecraft for your face.

Yes. Do as Super said. Though you would have to have been smart enough to actually have a previous backup of your .Minecraft or just your .Jar.

You're going to have to wait for a mod or Memo to come online to move you to the User group... Sadly, they are rarely on. I would suggest forcing either Memo, Dayne, or Kern to get on and add you sometime in the near future. Oh and Syroc, too.

EDIT:: We (Dayne and I) think that because there are four mods and 2 of them have only been on the new server once since it came online, so we think that there would be very little point in promoting only 1 considering there are only 2 active mods who are both as active as each other. So unless you were to promote another person straight to senior mod. We think that we should be both be senior mods.

HRM GEE WHAT A GREAT IDEAR. Ahem, so, where is it? Id like to evaluate it.

I don't really know where was it, but it was some kilometers away from Frink's town

To get to that area, I started from Aerosgrove and followed every river I saw.
I think it looks like the great wall of China, somehow.

I want to turn the brown spot over there into a grass area. Does anyone have a silk touch tool?
If no one does, I'll have to go to the ma, get xp, and enchant it by myself.

I want you to give me your stone bricks.

Anyway, if I used an invisibility cloak to rob a store, and someone caught me being invisible another store, and I said I was sorry and wouldnt use my cloak anymore, would you believe me? I finally managed to balance the graphic mods and RAM usage (updated Java and another thingy), and I must say, it looks AWESOME:

Im having trouble installing mods, I really need a step by step tutorial.

First I downloadedWinRaR so I could openmy minecraft.jar.
Then I downloaded ModLoader and put it into my jar.
Then I downloaded MAtmos (A mod I want), and put it into my .jar.

I used 1.0 version of the mod (Because the server is on 1.0), but it seems the mod didn't work....
someone said something about a "Mods" folder, but I couldn't find that anywhere. Do I need to extract the files in the Modloader and MAtmos folders, than put them into the jar?

Delete META-INF. Some mods require something special to install.

Okay, my town is going well, I built two light towers, so strangers can find the way if they are crossing the desert I also have a small storage, crafting stuff and furnaces inside of the towers. I may need help from anyone who wants to help. I need lots of stone bricks and maybe some glowstone. The first building plots may appear soon. Alright, I've installed optifine 1.0.1 and GLSL Shaders for 1.0.1 (the main mod for Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shader), but I don't know how to enable the shadows with that mod.

EDIT: I figured it out, but I need to wait for the thread you linked me to update to 1.0.1.

Here's why I can't use 1.0.0 mods, I tried using MCnostalgia to downgrade but when I do no other mods that are compatible for 1.0.0 seem to work. So I'm stuck with 1.0.1.

Go to video options and mess about with the new options, I can't tell much since I'm a bad teacher for everything.

Alternatively, install this (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/120261-v110-glsl-shaders-dof-bump-mapping-waving-wheat-dynamic-shadows-and-more/) version of GLSL first, then the Dynamic Shader.

I jailed him for 10 minutes, since he'd apologised and promised not to do so again. Well, after I'd figured how to do it, anyway. That horrible plugin works in seconds. Because jailing people for 10 seconds is hardly useful anyway.

Yes make sure that you only have the OptiFine checked. Don't use the MCPatcher HDTextures, Fonts, Etc.

Also, make sure the FIRST thing you do, whether you're using MCPatcher or manually, is install ModLoader.

I know you don't need ModLoader. But if you're going to use it, you should always install it first. Otherwise there's a chance it will overwrite some of your mods.

Yes. The mods are separate from the patcher. Mostly the patchers update was to update the texture mods it includes and to make it find the .jar for 1.1.

I'm fairly sure it's a program called Minecraft Cartographer.
When you originally use this program it will render maps "2-dimensionally", but there is a setting to render it like above. Just saying this because when I first used it, it stumbled me.

Yeah, it's Carthograph G, a separate application that scans your world and renders a map of it. I wanted to make one for the new server, but that means installing ModLoader, then WorldDownloader, then walking around the entire play area to download it, and finally render the map, which is a hard task. If only I could get my hands on the world file for the server...

Yeah silk touch is pretty awesome. I had it once, in single player, but as single players boring, I never really used it. It is pretty awesome though, I believe you can get mycelium and grass and everything...

Well, Josh appearently hid the dogs (In Aerosgrove), but he did not put the sign. Someone must have taken it a BIT further... But Josh said he did it just as a joke. This all happened at Aerosgrove but when we found the sign BlindWolf took it off.

I suppose i could use a non-reccomended build, but i'd have to kill spout and all its stuff to do it. plus since it isn't a reccommended, no telling what would happen.

Wow, this mod is amazing. The smart moving mod, which adds new movement mechanics and animations to the game. Hanging from iron bars, climbing fence poles, crouching, sliding, swan diving, high-jumping and climbing up high ledges, and so on. This could make possible a whole new range of platforming adventure maps. If only the controls were context-sensitive like in Assassin's Creed... they're not, so the key combination to make something advanced like a dive is is really difficult. It involves sprinting, using left ctrl, shift and jump so I guess only spiders can execute those controls on a keyboard.

Ok, so Oct was having this cool contest and whoever won got diamonds. The last challenge was to go to the Lunch-O-Matic, and Blindwolf was there, when we got there, he pulled the lever and me and frink both died from lava. On the sign NEXT TO the Lunch-O-Matic it says any death caused by someone else is ILLEGAL. Therefore I think blindwolf should replace the 8 diamonds he "took" from me.... Is that fair enough?

If you're on 1.1, just put mc.mineocity.com as the IP.

It would mean a great deal to me if somebody would go to the server and just type these things in any order and repeatedly:

Psychologically

Pretty much anything that ends in 'LY'

Just say only those. Defend yourself against accusations from mods. And if HSenor comes on (He's the founder), try to get him to follow you around as you walk backwards. And call him Best Friend. If they ask you what his name, say Best Friend. If they ask what town he's in, say Best Friend Town.

Basically be as annoying and sarcastic as possible without breaking any of the rules.

It's great fun!

Pfft... You're fine. They can't do anything... They'll just give you a temp-ban on their server. I'm waiting for my day to be up so I can go do it again!

Also, I'm getting really annoyed. I'm trying to set up a bukkit server and it will not let me set one up for my brother. It just refuses to work. I have forwarded a port to 25565. I have run the application and gotten all those folders it gives you. But it just doesn't let me connect. And whenever I try to set a static IP, I lose all connection to my internet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I think we need to sort out what happens if someone kills someone else.
On one hand it's not very nice, and you can lose items and XP to it.
On the other hand, it's just a bit of fun... HRM.

Thoughts? Perhaps the murderer should be required to help them regain what they lost, and or face a short prison sentence.

I don't know. I think since 1.1 Bukkit is coming out soon, and somethings like this need to be sorted out, it would be a great time to get on it. Also, I feel the same way about killing.....it IS fun. I don't think our jail is functioning that well, though. People get put in it, then aren't really "in" it.

Maybe if there were something like an XP trade plugin, like you could use commands to give some of you XP to another person. That would be nice. Smart Moving mod for our server could be good, too. There's too many new things we could have for the 1.1 server.

I might start a town in 1.1.....maybe, just maybe. Any suggestions for biomes/ideas for themes?
