I'm legitimately surprised.

My estimates showed that requests would've been filled within the 1st hours of notice... and yet we still have some spots(?) left.

Plus, as what happened to me many months ago, she might let people in for waiting so patiently... but I guess we'll have to wait until she's online again.

1..1 single drawing.

You got like 2 drawings from 20 different artists here on LBPC, which means that you got around 40 drawings. Seriously, whenever I go to a thread I see you asking for a drawing. You should let others that haven't gotten a drawing from an artist get a chance. We need a rule for this, this is kind of ******* me off. Plus, you don't appreciate the drawings the artists draw for you, you only use 3 drawings (in your sig and avatar), and you say the same thing to every artist "AWESOME!!!!!!!" and then you just walk away and don't use or maybe not even save the drawing. Gaah, why do I even care.

The arms are a tad too thin and straight. Remember, Sackboy's arms are like a triangle, and should be smaller at the top than at the bottom. Also, Sackboy does have shoulders, although very small - His arms don't meet at his head.

Time for another episode of Cin's Radically Comprehensive Feedbackz : Yes, it's outstanding no doubt, but I'll cut straight to what I think you need to improve on.

Consistency - I don't know whether you've been cutting back on sketches and spending more time on full drawings and other characters, or if you haven't been completely attentive in the structure and anatomy of your drawings. On some you nail a perfect sackperson shape (in the 'Zim' style, not the 'official' one), but in others, it's a different 'style' completely.

I'm talking about the sackperson shape. On each of your sackpeople, the head is a different size in proportion to the body. The mouths are often different in length or distance from the chin. In this case, sackboy's cheek is at a very sharp angle like nothing you've ever drawn recently. I think it's time you adopted your own set of measurements and starting sequences for your sackboy artwork, assuming you haven't done so already.

I'm not sure how advanced your tablet is, but if it has a grid or multilayer capabilities, you should use them. Start out by drawing the basic shapes that compose sackboy, but don't just do it from muscle memory, try and use a grid or ruler. Create a mental checklist. Sackboy has x vertices on his head, his legs are x times as long as his arms, his torso is x times the width and length of his head.

Start with the basic shapes. Refine them and add more detail. Add clothes. Color and shade the finished sketch. You've probably already been doing this, but I think you would benefit from taking it up a notch.

Start with the basic shapes, but stop before you continue. Compare it to the shapes of your other sketches and look for consistency by bringing up your mental checklist. The proportions, number of vertices for certain body structures, and facial consistency for specific emotions apply.

Evaluate what you're looking at. Make sure the position makes sense: I think you're a little lacking in that respect. In your current picture, it looks like he would fall over if you unpaused. I see what you were going for, making him walk, but it doesn't look realistic or fluid. His body is leaning to the left and yet his left leg, not his right leg, is up in the air. Try to imagine if his right leg was up in the air instead... wouldn't it look a little better? But keep in mind the option to not have him walk at all. With lightsaber in one hand and the force in the other, he might benefit from an adamant stance where both legs are rooted against the ground.

Check to make sure that the stance makes sense straight after step 1. If in doubt, don't continue, try again with a different stance. If you could have a council of Rembrandts that watched you and gave you feedback as you worked, I think we can agree that you'd be a better artist. You have the power to be your own Rembrandt, so practice and refine that power. Be a good critic of your own work. At each step, look for faults, flaws, or even elements that aren't necessarily bad but could be better.

In a nutshell, I think some of these flaws are: -The cheeks; they're very jagged compared to some of your other works. -The mouth; it doesn't wrap around the face, giving the face the look of a 2D plain with a mouth across the middle. -A small gradient smudge on the right side of the neck and the part of the chin just above it; I don't think it makes any sense in being there. -The triangular robe tassels; they look stiff, the right tassel especially. -Sackboy's position; like I talked about, his legs are in an unnatural position that make him look like he's about to fall.

I would like to compliment some other details:

-You're clearly attentive to perception and distance. The right hand is at a perfect size, and so is the left leg (despite that it doesn't work out with gravity).
-You're attentive to bringing life to your drawings. The subtle but precious glow from the lightsaber is a nice touch. The wind makes the robe look very lively while adding drama and motion to the image.
-It's good to see you experimenting with shading and background effects. Understand that when I talk about consistency I talk about the basic form of sackboy. Once you've captured that form, variety comes from how you present it in terms of lighting, shading, effects, and colors. When each drawing is a little original, they become much more special.

EDIT: By the way, I know you don't expect these to be perfect. If it takes you 40% more time to do what I'm suggesting and it only adds a little bit of value, don't do it. 10 near-perfect drawings is better than 6 perfect ones.		2010-12-23 22:33:00

I agree with all of the points you've made here, and I'm really grateful for such a thorough critique, but concerning the consistency part - It's great advice, and I'd like to put it to use, but time restricts me from taking another half hour to check up on everything and measure each body part, head size, etc. Keep in mind that I do put effort into these request, but not my utmost-totally-completely best effort, due to the fact that I have 15 other requests to do, in addition to the comic.
