whelp, looks like the plugin list is gonna be shorter when i get the thing going. still have to re do the perm nodes as we are using a different front-end to the permissions system this time around. Ill keep you updated as things progress!

EDIT: I'll have to fiddle with big brother once i get it up and ready. Here are the mods that are gonna get added:

mcMMO (levels will be capped)

jobs
iconomy
citizens (the town'll have guards and blacksmiths!)

BigBrother (provided i get all that crap sorted out with it.)

That said. this is gonna be a lot of work to get up and running, and with the 1.9 pre already being tested its gonna suck. I'm not sure if the levels we have for mcmmo will stay, nor will money or job levels or any of that crap. that's how big of a change over this will all be. There was a creeper. I tried to kill it, but it exploded before I even got a hit in (Yes, the lag was THAT bad last night) And then I got a java socket error so I gave up. Sorry :/



Anyway. Spawn town.

For the moment, my ideas are as follows:

The town will revolve around a central Rotunda (as Memo suggested) which is the spawn point, and also the teleporter hub.
Roads will branch off from each side of the rotunda, one leading through the residential area, which will branch off onto 4 streets.

Another will lead to the marketplace area, where you can set up stalls / shops / cafes etc.

The third will lead to a training sector, with a colosseum for PvP fighting, an arrow shooting range (one concept I had for this was to release lava from a unit in the middle of the field, and you have to shoot the arrow through to set it on fire) And there will also be other forms of XP training.

Finally, a road leading to either general buildings, or (most probably) a large library which will hold both the server rules, and the town rules themselves. Here's the current map (unfinished)

I think the idea for spawntown would be good, but shouldn't it be something more special instead of just another town? It is the first thing people see on the server. Look at the last, giant floating tree thing, I was amazed when I saw that.2011-09-28 11:59:00

The Mystery deepens.
My friend who i thought hacked my account has promised me he hasn't been on my Minecraft in about a month as he keeps getting Blue-screened. We may think the ip that my friend traced is the Ip of the admin of the server, so we probably just found out about Memodrix. I hope the guy who hacked me did not too much damage i hear it was two houses...I'm sorry about this, i had no way of preventing it and as Falcon has said, I have changed my password to something much more secure. Okay, so I was online a while ago when Tanrock joined. I was walking around town, bored. I saw a chest in the town hall and got curious, so I opened it. I found 17 diamond blocks. Knowing that they where Tan's and that LWC was broken, I decided to take them to him as a heads up. So then we had a "heated debate" about whether or not I stole the diamond blocks. Tanrock proceeded to say that if anything happened while he was gone, he would destroy my house in town, then logged off. I was taken aback by this brash remark and decided to take a screenshot and report it here.

GUYS, MC Pre-lease 1.9 part 2 is out! I thought it would be uninteresting, but they added all the cool music, so now there's about 12 music discs. (Including that LBP inspired song.)

It depends how many people are going to be using it. If you're wanting a small server between you and a couple of friends, you might just be able to host one on your computer. Check canihostaminecraftserver.com (http://canihostaminecraftserver.com/), if your computer can't hold enough people, maybe a friend who was going to use it might be able to instead? If all else fails, you can check here (http://www.minecraftforum.net/forum/131-minecraft-server-hosting/) for servers, but it's highly unlikely you'll find one for free.

I'm thinking this clone thing might be the Citizens plugin that Memo installed. I have the same plugin on a personal server I use with friends, and if you name the NPC after a player it clones their skin.

Either Memo is playing tricks on us and placing NPCs everywhere, or it's glitching and making them itself.		2011-10-01 10:11:00

Okay, so my house seems to be being targeted a lot by griefers recently. This morning, I found that someone had planted a huge mushroom on my roof with a sign saying "THE MUSHROOM IS ABDUCTING YOUR HOUSE", as well as some signs placed on the front of my house with the lyrics to burning ring of fire on them. I wasn't particularly bothered by this because it was a one time thing and it was actually kinda funny. But after removing them, someone then planted a tree on my house, and now every time I chop it down it gets replanted and it's getting really annoying.

I did actually see Abbel97 plant a tree on my house a number of times when he thought I wasn't looking, and then he tried to play innocent and denied doing anything, but I know it wasn't him the first few times because as far as I know, he wasn't online.

Also, Hellobob5 attempted to plant a load of trees right next to my house, and when that many trees are placed together near a house they're a real nuisance to get rid of, so I'm pretty sure he was trying to troll, especially because he asked for bonemeal. I saw him do the exact same thing next to someone else's house later. So just a heads up, if Hellobob5 asks for anything make sure to check what he wants it for and why, because whenever he asks for something it always seems to end in him causing trouble.


Basically, in short, if anyone sees anyone on my roof doing something suspicious please tell me. And also keep an eye on Abbel and Bob.

Thanks guys, but they currently do nothing, and in 1.9 all they do is get you banned for "hacking". I'm not upset about losing an enderpearl, but I am upset that someone would go into my chest and take something that does not belong to them. It's the principle of the matter!

Also, Hellobob5 attempted to plant a load of trees right next to my house, and when that many trees are placed together near a house they're a real nuisance to get rid of, so I'm pretty sure he was trying to troll, especially because he asked for bonemeal. I saw him do the exact same thing next to someone else's house later. So just a heads up, if Hellobob5 asks for anything make sure to check what he wants it for and why, because whenever he asks for something it always seems to end in him causing trouble.


Basically, in short, if anyone sees anyone on my roof doing something suspicious please tell me. And also keep an eye on Abbel and Bob.

I can't wait until we can make protected residences again. :/

But i think at some point he entered cunlock command and left it open and when we went in Russ' cave he opened the trap door and forgot what the password was.

1. ChuckMP destroyed 2 blocks of a house and then placed an unlocked sign
2. He broke DayneOram's sign to his house.
3. You placed signs on Doopz's house with inappropriate messages on them

Together. Those are 3 strikes, Which mean that the reaction was justified, and the destruction of your shop (and your subsequent banishments) were a direct result of you two breaking rules of the server.

I was talking about "reservation" as in "make sure I'll have some empty patch of dirt where I can erect my domain free of annoyances, such as griefers, bad neighborhoods, vines, creepers, charged creepers and groups of up to five creepers. Found a nice little server with a whitelist... Finally... After weeks of searching... o.O It's a creative server that still has mobs... So I can go seclude myself in the wilderness without actually being lonely! And there's like 15 nether portals... So you always have something to do... :3

I'm willing to host a temporary server for the LBPC Minecraft-playing community on a computer on my home network. I've set it up so far so that it's usable, but so that skills, jobs, inventories & other character-attributes can be kept consistent, would someone involved in the admin-side of the server be able to send me information such as what plugins they'd like implemented, what sort of map (for the temporary world), etc.?

We don't need plugins if we have creative mode though, I suppose if that'd be easier!

If the server goes down again, or if a temporary solution is still wanted, I can host it as creative at first, and then attempt to migrate the creations into a multi-player survival map, if that's possible (sorry - I've little experience with Creative Mode).


Edit: I've been able to add bukkit (latest version) to the server I've been working on , but, as I only learnt how to port-forward earlier today, it might be a little while longer until I can find a way to enable the server to work cross-networks over the internet, rather than just over my local area network through a router.

2nd Edit: I've been able to configure a fairly viable server - let me know if it goes down again, and I'll be able to host during the main server's downtime.		2011-10-05 23:20:00

If you right click the air with a hoe so it says "You ready your Hoe" then right click on the patch of dirt (or cobble) it will turn it into grass (or mossy cobble) depending on if you have seeds in your inventory.		2011-10-07 07:53:00

No clue, but it happens to me too. Usually after it gives me the String length longer than maximum allowed error, it then tells me that there's a communication error with the server until I close and re-open Minecraft. If you keep trying, it should eventually let you in.		2011-10-07 20:47:00

Not just me then? Kernelm was on fine earlier. I looked up the problem, and a couple of people said to try deleting our folders from the server, and giving us back our perms manually again in game.

Mkay. got a few things fixed.



Residences now work(they won't work for big houses tho, as its still set to defaults. I need to fix that.)
jails now work and mods can jail people
mchat is working, and you can use colored chat now, i haven't added titles back yet
job titles are now gone in order to make room for the titles when i get around to it.
Big Brother is now replaced with logblock. Mods have access to /lb commands now. Don't kill the server please.
mods now have kick and ban privs. but should use /jail as opposed to ban unless its a group decision.

Dragons smashing through terrain is cool...but does anyone think it was programmed like that because it's a lot easier than programming it to avoid terrain and maybe even land on it?
