Have you had a tour?

Basically there are 2 major settlements; 'Fogtown' run by Alec, and "Teuthidahurst" which is ran by me and Dayne. We suggest settling in Teuthidahurst because it is the only town with plumbing other than Spawntown.

So I've visited Teuthidahurst by means of teleportation. I have no idea where it is in relation to Spawntown though. Just to make sure, if I head off some ways away from Teuthidahurst, could I build whatever I please?		2011-08-11 22:05:00

I'm not gonna get into this any more than to say this is how it goes:

if someone makes a town, and then you do something to mess with that town, then you are subject to their rules/decision/whatnot. I keep the server going and occasionaly even play on it. If I get involved (think of me as the feds, and the town as the locals), NOBODY will be happy, so work this out amongst yourselves.



UPDATE!: DayneOram, Jirugameshi(sp?), dasbas, and DekernelM can now use the /rankup command to give people build perms.		2011-08-13 13:59:00

It's obvious how you kill Enderman. You must plan ahead! Always carry 5 buckets of lava, and a shovel. Once you see the Enderman on your screen, prepare. Build a hole, fill it with lava. Then look at him! Watch as he runs towards you and falls in the lava and dies.

1) Dig hole 1x1, 2 deep
2) Fill with lava
3) Jump in

This is driving me insane now. Xero, can you PLEASE remove the movement block on your residence? Or at least have it inside your house walls. We all keep stepping on the land and becoming trapped. (Sometimes the server even kicks us off.) It's HIGHLY annoying.

I have a similar question, a friend of mine just bought Minecraft today (or yesterday since it's just gone past 12 AM) and I offered to let him on the server. He does have an LBPC account, but he's only posted like once here. I was wondering if he'd be able to play on the server? To be honest, knowing him, he won't even be there that often, lol.

While I do agree with you, to be fair, you do have the same thing in one of your residences which is just as annoying.

I realised this, which is why I removed it a few days ago. And besides, the area I put my move block over was WITHIN my walls and fences. Xero's is two blocks outside his house, so every time I cut the path (on purpose or by accident) I'm trapped. I'm not the only one to complain, a few people have been kicked off the server for "going too fast" or "hacking".

Anyway, my latest creation, Fluttershy Tavern is open for business! Owned by myself, with TrueFlamento and I as the bartenders. And DeKernelm if he's not too busy, but he's not quite so Pony inclined.

Apparently I'm at about level 10,000 for mining with mcmmo on the server. And ATMLVE is at a power level of 31,000. It wasn't like this an hour ago. Things are just getting weirder and weirder...

EDIT: I fixed it. Somebody decided to change my stats with a command. I used that command to fix it. Whoever it was, please don't do it again. >_>		2011-08-16 22:33:00

We've got a plugin on the server called Big Brother, which allows you to see a log of blocks broken and placed. With that known, you should be able to find who did that. But as far as I know, Memo is the only one who can do that...2011-08-18 14:57:00

Its a mod not sure of the name but you get negative points for killing passive mobs Pigs for example and you additional points by killing aggressive mobs. This mod however doesn't work in SMP.2011-08-20 15:16:00

I would like to apologize to everyone for using commands to give myself benefits I didnt earn. Everyone else gets theyre XP by doing it right, but I cheated and used commands to get it rather than do it legitimately. Now the server is down for a little while fixing the loophole I unfairly exploited. However, after now, it will no longer be a problem. No, Im back down to level 1, and I have start over and do it all the right way. However, I can assure you if giving myself XP was against the rules or hacking, I wouldnt have done it. It was built into the mc command system, and its quite difficult to read unwritten rules. Now, I have received my punishment, and it will certainly never happen again.2011-08-20 21:30:00

It was just skill levels. I didn't really mind, but it was unfair to other players (and would kind of make the whole XP thing pointless if everybody had started doing it). Besides, we have access to other mod-like commands, so it's not unreasonable that someone wouldn't think twice about having access to commands like that.

In unrelated news, I'm going to need you to come and remove a sign with me the next time we're both on.

Also I've started work on a forest of giant trees, which is coming along quite nicely if I may say so. We also apparently have a world of floating islands now, though I haven't been there myself yet. 		2011-08-20 21:50:00

Mmkay, I think we have spread the server too thin over a very large area. I'm probably gonna pull the server down soon for a while and eventually i am going to have to remove the sphere world. people seem to like the cloud world more anyway.

I'm experimenting with the read distance setting now on the server. it's going to be reduced till i find a happy medium. also, teleports and /jumpto may well be dealt with much differently.


If i can get it going where it should for a 20 slot server the compass and /jumpto may be removed. or at least not available to normal players. But i should stress that i REALLY REALLY don't wanna do that.

You open a door then try to walk through but it pushes you back out and sometimes it only opens the top or bottom of one door. So, it turns out Spoutcraft on Mac has no sound, I've found a fix so here's a quick tut.

Step 1: Download Spoutcraft and keep it in your Downloads folder, don't change the name!
Step 2: Open TextEdit, you'll have to save the code because you have to do this to launch Spoutcraft. Type this code snippet in.

cd ~/Downloads/
java -Xincgc -Xmx1024M -jar Spoutcraft.jar
Step 3: Open Terminal and paste the code in. Press Enter.
Step 4: ???

Just wondering if you could check this out Memo, we had this on Whaaaaale's Server and it was awesome so it would be just the same on yours. This mod allows you to do more organised pvp with random teams, you inventory is saved prior to the game then given back after, there is two game modes Capture the Flag and Team Deathmatch and we can build our own maps for the plugin so this really satisfies everyone's desires. I've mentioned this tool to a few people before, but I figure I may as well post about it here. The Minecraft Structure Planner lets you plan out structures you want to make in Minecraft and preview the result in 3D. This is very useful for making complex structures or statues and the like, since you can adjust the shape and make changes quickly when something doesn't look right. It also tells you how much of each material you'll need for your construction. There's also some algorithm-generated structures like spheres, mazes and the like, if you're into that sort of thing.

The Nether Platforms arena is staged in the Nether, with a hazardous floor (will be set on fire soon). Luckily, there is another way throughout the map! The floating platforms. This introduces an entirely new aspect into the fight.

Ocean Floor

The Ocean Floor arena is staged, obviously, on the bottom of the ocean. Encased in glass, which allows for outside viewing, this arena is entirely underwater. It makes you have to manage two fronts: breathing, and killing your enemy.

we had one, people complained more than when we didn't. it went away. If i can find one that gives you a per player on-off option that would be cool, be the only one i found that did anything correctly when i tested it just asked you if they could every time they tried.2011-09-02 09:07:00

I earned 30 more minutes in jail because Trueflamento tried to teleport me out of the jail when I was AFK.
Also everyone know I hate people who teleports me, so stop that as well. Srsly, fix this.

I think there is if you type in /res help 1 in game you wil get a list of commands regarding residences, there is 6 pages so ues /res help 2,3,4... On one page there are commands like rent, sell and buy.2011-09-05 15:53:00

You could always install your own clientside one. I run Rei's Minimap v1.7 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_OJif4nuFY) currently, and it works great. The only thing I noticed is that Cave View and Entity Tracker only work in singleplayer (for obvious anti-cheating reasons).		2011-09-07 17:29:00

So I tried the seed "warlord_evil" and I suppose I have an epic seed named after me in 1.8. :hero:

Try it in creative mode and you can fly around and look at it.

edit: Also try the seed "-1143852375111069115" in 1.7 or lower, it's the seed for my giant floating island level. You should start in a desert and you need to go left.		2011-09-10 00:02:00
