| The reviewer added this to the official review page: [Editor's note - a Day One patch for LittleBigPlanet 3 may resolve some of the bug issues, but we have gone over the upcoming list of fixes and there weren't enough pertinent to our experience to justify changing the score] ![]() | 2014-11-18 08:20:00 Author: The5rozos Posts: 952 |
| Reviews have been disappointing to say the least. Reports of gamebreaking bugs is concerning. Why can't devs release a game these days without it requiring major fixes? | 2014-11-18 09:31:00 Author: Ali_Star Posts: 4085 |
Sad for the developers, that they get bad critics, but believe me, the community is important for LBP and stands tall (not small^^) behind the game ![]() | 2014-11-18 09:46:00 Author: Schnupsi Posts: 506 |
| Not even a chipmunk who only cares about his nuts will agree with IGN's 6.8. Something like 7.5 I can totally agree with but give me a break. | 2014-11-18 12:37:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |
| Turning the subject away from reviews for a moment, does anyone else think that we should start up a thread to gather bugs and issues that are currently plaguing the game? That and other questionable occurrences (like the stripy suit costume piece conflicting with waist items for no discernible reason, or photo quality in snapshots being terrible on PS4), just to highlight for the developers what the community is most interested in getting fixed? | 2014-11-18 13:04:00 Author: Ryuhza Posts: 355 |
| Okay... just read IGN's review and for a person like me who actually knows the game it was immediately clear this girl had no idea of what she was reviewing whatsoever. First of all, LBP is a game that can't be reviewed in a few hours. Story Mode is THE FREAKING LEAST of the adventure. She can't complain because the new characters aren't used enough: After all they are an addition for create mode more than anything! The bugs in Story Mode might me an issue, yes, but this is a rather more complex game than LBP2 & 1 and they will surely be patched, even then, that doesn't justify a score of 6, being that LBP1 and LBP2 were praised with scores well over 90 and this game has (literally, really, literally) the same of both games above and more. Just another proof that some reviewers don't even care about the game and try to get their reviews done as fast as possible. Shameful, but I hope the game is a success, and is criticized for what it actually is by the community, and not a plain bad review. | 2014-11-18 13:11:00 Author: yugnar Posts: 1478 |
| I can imagine some of these reviewers opening create mode, drawing something profane with sponge, thinking, "Huh, you can probably do a lot with this", and then exiting, believing that they had satisfactorily reviewed create mode. | 2014-11-18 13:16:00 Author: Ryuhza Posts: 355 |
| It's annoying that some big games get a "review in progress" (eg Destiny, GTA V etc), whereas this one doesn't get that treatment. | 2014-11-18 13:26:00 Author: Ali_Star Posts: 4085 |

That and other questionable occurrences (like the stripy suit costume piece conflicting with waist items for no discernible reason, or photo quality in snapshots being terrible on PS4), just to highlight for the developers what the community is most interested in getting fixed? That's a good idea. As fun as the game is so far, there do seem to be a lot of glitches and places to fall out of levels in the story mode. | 2014-11-18 13:51:00 Author: Chazprime Posts: 587 |

Basic shapes. It's something we didn't get to play with in the beta. I can't wait to see what the tweakers on those are. I hope they let us change them to any material. | 2014-11-18 14:55:00 Author: Biv Posts: 734 |

| http://i.imgur.com/7kPEPQ1.jpg (stolen from Neogaf) I got one! My reward was LBP3. I agree with most of the reviews except Polygon's and especially IGN's (which was inane). Having played the beta my expectations were in check, but it's still a fun game and diverging reviews shouldn't get in the way of your enjoyment. Also the story mode is excellent. | 2014-11-18 18:06:00 Author: bonner123 Posts: 1487 |

| The good: So far is fun and looks fantastic. I love the few levels I played, the hub is good fun. The addition of collectabells will bring me back for more. The building challenge race thingey is a fun addition. I also dig the side quests. The Bad: The complete fail when it comes to the transfer of LBP 1 & 2 data. NOT DLC, game data. Things are missing all over. I know most of my costumes didn't transfer. Sumo, just save everyone and yourself the headache. Put all the stickers, costumes, decos and materials into a free DLC pack and be done with it. Trying to fix this is going to be a mess. | 2014-11-19 00:31:00 Author: Biv Posts: 734 |

| So... whenever I complete a level... absolutely none of the end of level victory prizes are getting added to my popit... that includes Ace Prizes, All gifts collected prizes, And level completed prizes... And obviously I have restarted my system a few times to make sure it wasn't a 1 time error... Well this is disapointing... *mew ...and also when i go to import profile option in the menu it doesn't show any of my LBP1/2 backups as a option even tho it did port over my LBP2 profile when i first booted LBP3 up... ugh so many bugs... wondering if i should just wait for the game to be patched more before i continue to play much more. *mew | 2014-11-19 05:16:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |

I'll say this, most of the errors seems to be in areas they couldn't test before release. DLC, info transfer, that sort of thing. The game itself, at least from my experience, has been running like a silk glove, with only occasional, minor glitches. | 2014-11-19 16:07:00 Author: Biv Posts: 734 |

| Those lazy developers that put in months of overtime just to get the game out on a release date the publisher demands. I wish Sumo had been lazier. The PS4 LBP2 profile import is a perfect example where lazy would have been preferable. Ever hear of the K.I.S.S. principle, "keep it simple Sumo"? I really don't know what this import is doing...inferring progress from trophies and pins? All LBP1 and 2 content should just have been made available to everyone, easy-peasy, no mess, no fuss. Seems like the devs jumped through hoops to avoid the inevitable cries of "hey, I worked hard for that...no fair letting everyone have it!" To those people, I would have said tough cookies, it's been years, get over it. Now they've gone an made a mess for themselves to sort out. | 2014-11-19 17:00:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |

There was a whole thread that came down to the "hard-work" vs. "give it away" arguments a while back. To me, I chose to put as much time into the story mode as I did, and it sure wouldn't hurt my feelings to get it all into LBP3 without headaches. I would have much preferred keeping it easy and simple. I'll cross my fingers for a simple DLC fix, but I feel as though they wouldn't scrap the entire system... | 2014-11-19 17:25:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |

| LBP has honestly always had a lot of glitches, but not a lot of game breaking glitches. My favorite glitch has to be using create mode tools in a community level. That looks pretty fun, I cross my fingers that they forget to patch it. | 2014-11-19 18:37:00 Author: Nickey211 Posts: 97 |

| In regards to import bugs.... They didn't HAVE to make it backwards compatible. At all. Heck; even Sony do didn't go to any effort to make the PS4 backwards compatible with PS3 games. Most games don't even bother trying to move content between platforms. Dragon Age Inquisition is an great example of this. Two game's worth of choices dumped to make it work on next gen. A huge sprawling RPG where nearly every conversation has repercussions and shapes how characters interact with you. That sounds pretty complex... but it's pretty black and white 'yes/no' sort of stuff. Now look at LBP and consider that a player's popit can be full random creations/stickers and may also comprise of glitches/broken/modded objects and items. Sometimes a simple thing isn't as easy as it appears on the surface. I think it's a pretty commendable effort that so few players are having issues. Yes, it would have been easier to dump support, give out all the pervious content automatically, and the game would likely be very stable. Keeping in mind that LBP Hub is still meant to be coming out, the use of pins to unlock stuff is actually a really clever an elegant solution to moving content to an entirely new platform, without breaking the other games. The ability for PS3 owners to play levels made on PS4 is also a huge accomplishment. I understand that people wish that PS3 could play online with PS4, but even Bungie didn't do that with Destiny, so again, I would think that this comes down to technical decisions made by Sony of how a PS4 and a PS3 are built. | 2014-11-20 02:49:00 Author: Mr_Fusion Posts: 1799 |

| Is that a general bug with race finish gates removing multipliers? Are there still channels open to report such bugs to Sumo? Actually, I did another test, and I think high multipliers might be bugged in general. I managed another near-perfect run (single multiplier chain, only one or two bubbles missed) and only ended up with around 7,000 points. Here's a video for my imperfect run that somehow ended up with a higher score than the perfect run. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=freQq6Ph82k | 2014-11-20 22:23:00 Author: Ryuhza Posts: 355 |

| Most games don't even bother trying to move content between platforms. Dragon Age Inquisition is an great example of this. Two game's worth of choices dumped to make it work on next gen. They didn't dump anything. They only "outsourced" it. They do not export any saves but offer you the chance to go to the The Keep-Homepage and enter your choices there. Inquisition will import you choices from The Keep and the first two games will affect Inquisition (and all future Dragon Age Games as The Keep is supposed to stay as a long term system where choices are kept that they can use for future games). It' a pity you have to remember anything and enter it manually but I think it is a good compromise. It's also nice because this means that not only you can move on to the PS4 without loosing all choices but you are also able to move from console to PC or the other way around and the choices in The Keep will carry over. It's a clever system. Speaking of Dragon Age... Are the Dragon Age Inquisition costumes really the only one that are available for PS3? There were more free packs in the PS4 Extras Edition and for preordering... Was there any news that those will also find their way to the store? I'd love to have that phoenix (although I still dislike that I will have to pay for them while they are free on PS4...). | 2014-11-24 15:17:00 Author: Dag_B Posts: 1 |
| Seems to me like the beta isn't over yet. I don't feel like playing lbp3 at all now. I'd rather let them kill a few more bugs first. Being part of the Beta and having played the final game for almost a week now, I agree it is almost unforgivable the amount of bugs that went unnoticed in Story Mode and a couple of other glitches in the game. Part of it might be that we couldn't test the story mode at all (but for half of Toggle's level), and I do believe that the devs were pushed to rush the game or forbidden to make a delay like in LBP2. But I also believe this game has already got too much hate, and we should be above all the ones who give the most support from the gaming community. Yes, I already told there are some very annoying bugs here and there, but we should be optimistic. Levels can be "easily" patched, we creators know that more than anyone. Some escape points from the levels can be fixed, no-respawning or hub-issues are just memorizer problems too, and Sumo has more than talented creators to fix them (I actually find rather odd that they didn't find nor fix them earlier). After all this, as a Beta tester I can tell many things have been improved and the most urgent bugs fixed. I remember that the character changer tweaker was buggy as hell and crahsed the game 90% of the times it was used, and now it works beautifully. Character changing is now rather smooth, loading times have been reduced. Being stuck in a character or being unable to open certain parts of your popit hasn't been reported anymore. Changing between Big Toggle and Small Toggle is now smoooooth, unlike in the Beta. The game hasn't crashed once for me (so far) while in the Beta I had at least one crash per day. In general the game does feel more polished and stable. LBP3 is by no way a perfect game as it is now, but I truly believe it has the potential to be the best game editor of all time with some time. Sumo is by far the most interested to get the game in the best shape as possible, so se shouldn't be too tough with them. Criticism is quite necessary, and they committed various mistakes that can't be negated, but we can't really blame and point our fingers at them without knowing which kind of pressure they had behind them. | 2014-11-24 16:08:00 Author: yugnar Posts: 1478 |

| And it's now in "Strayian English"! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqiWu-pTKls Crikey! I just got an SMS from EB games saying that I can go in tomozza to pick up my pre order. Luckily, I'm on holidays and live on top of a Westfields. I'll be jumping up like a jumbuck at the sparrows fart to grab it. Hope my profile loads properly across to PS4 or I'll be calling for burt, barking at the lawn, spewin chips otherwise. I've been feeling lower than a snakes belly watching everyone in Up Over playing already. | 2014-11-25 10:13:00 Author: Mr_Fusion Posts: 1799 |

| I'll potentially be getting lbp3 in 2 days. I hope there's a big patch before then. If there is a patch they'll write the wrong version number on it and some chunks of text will be missing. | 2014-11-25 21:10:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |

| Meh, i'm getting the boxed version. I was gifted LBPK for my birthday but i'm gonna swap it for LBP3 (plus ofcourse some cash). Hopefully it'll be worth it... I'll be creating a bit later than everyone else though, as i'm only just getting it in the evening (if everything goes right). But i will buy it! | 2014-11-25 23:35:00 Author: Woutery Posts: 793 |
| Well, everything went well for me importing to PS4, the intro loading into the pod for the first time got a bit of stutter as I guess it finished pulling everything over. I didn't have too much of an in-depth look at it to see if any random stuff was missing, I just organised the tabs by theme and they all seem to be there... I may be wrong, but so far so good. Will port LBP2 levels and custom content a bit later, after I've played story mode a bit more. everything is running pretty well for me. I did fall through some sections of some of the levels, but I was being a bit silly. Just finished Manglewood, and am very very excited about some of the music I picked up... When looking at screen shots of all the 50's stuff I was looking forward to it helping with my BTTF project, but now... I have 'Mister Sandman' as music! | 2014-11-26 03:13:00 Author: Mr_Fusion Posts: 1799 |

| Just want to say thank you to everyone for continuing the enthusiasm started in this thread for these last few months. Over 93,000 views and over 2,000 replies, impressive. Fortunately, the game is now out in all regions so this thread is no longer needed. Time to put it to bed. | 2014-11-28 00:00:00 Author: ForgottenEnigma Posts: 1414 |
